Golf Resort Adendorf
Celebrates Opening of PuttingZone Academy
01 November 2005 ADENDORF, GERMANY -- Golf Resort Adendorf outside Hamburg, Germany, celebrated the opening of Geoff Mangum's PuttingZone Academy (PZA) with four days of putting clinics and press coverage. Geoff Mangum has established his national headquarters for Germany at the exclusive golf resort and spa, with head golf professional Andy Taylor acting as his coordinator for all German PZ Academies.
The opening of the first PZA in Germany comes in conjunction with Mangum's appearance as featured lecturer at the European PGA Teaching and Coaching Conference in Munich. Mangum's lecture on the brain-based model for instinctive putting was very well received by over 1,000 European pros, who participated in an hour-long Q&A session afterwards that continued so long the TCC hosts had to stop the session for dinner.
The 4-day celebration at Adendorf began with clinics for Resort patrons, followed over the next two days by clinics for professional teachers from throughout Germany. These clinics presented the innovative putting techniques Mangum has developed with his 15-year study of the brain and body for putting targeting and stroke movement, as well as introduced the pros to future PZA opportunities for franchises and certification programs.
The press day was attended by media representatives from throughout the greater Hamburg area as well as national press and golf publications. The press members were lectured on theory and then "praxis" by Mangum and were treated to an on-green lesson in "touch", stroke, and putt reading.
The PZA will have full use of a new indoor training facility at Golf Resort Adendorf. The two-level structure features a large putting surface with contours especially designed for teaching, a chipping area, a swing simulator, and an elevated bar. In addition to the PZA building and the large outdoor putting green, the Resort includes a 4-star hotel and restaurant (The Castenea Resort) with spa and business seminar facilities, the golf clubhouse with restaurant (The Castello), a newly opened 18-hole course, a short-game course, a driving range and teaching facility, an ice rink, a children's play arena, and other amenities.
