Damon Lucas and His Baltimore PZ Academy to Present Three PuttingZone Clinics with Geoff Mangum

Damon Lucas has studied with Geoff Mangum for over four years now and has established the first PuttingZone Academy in the US in the greater Baltimore area. Damon is a top instructor and player in the Mid-Atlantic PGA and is the Director of Instruction at both Chestnut Ridge Country Club and Hayfields Country Club, two of the top clubs in the Washington-Baltimore area.

On Saturday, May 20, 2006, Damon and Geoff will jointly present two clinics for Members at Hayfields Country Club, Hunt Valley, MD: a morning clinic open to Members and Guests as well as to the Public, and an afternoon clinic for Members and Guests.

On Sunday, May 21, Damon and Geoff will present a 2-hour clinic for Members and Guests at Chestnut Ridge Country Club, Lutherville, MD.

Each clinic is limited to 15 people and will cover:

1. green reading to select a target spot for starting line and touch or weight,
2. positioning the putter face through the ball on line accurately and then being able to judge where the putter face is aiming at the distance of the target,
3. a repeating tempo that augments hand-eye coordination and distance control,
4. an instinctive appreciation of the relationship between the golfer's stroke tempo and equipment and the green speed for that day,
5. instinctive distance control with a targeting movement,
6. putting where the putter face is aimed,
7. the physics of ball-putter interaction for straight and true roll,
8. ball-hole physics for the ball falling into and staying inside the cup,
9. setup postures for targeting and stroke movement optimization,
10. proper use of the eyes when sighting behind the ball and when targeting beside the ball,
11. long-putt lagging techniques,
12. short-putt tips and tricks,
13. putter fitting and selection,
14. a collection of drills and exercises to support each of these.

If you are a Golf Professional / Instructor interested in working with Geoff, he regularly travels the US and abroad and is keen to work with you, either in North Carolina or at your location. Sponsor a putting clinic at your course for your players and split the proceeds evenly with Geoff. He offers one-on-one lessons and also offers a PZ Coaches Certification program and his PZ Academy Franchises, backed up with loads of training and marketing support to make you the top putting teacher in your area -- and a member of a growing worldwide community of the best putting instructors in golf history.

Geoff Mangum is widely regarded as the most knowledgeable putting coach in the world and has spent 15 years studying and coaching putting to amateurs and professionals right up to major winners. Last year, after his lecture to 1,000+ PGA pros at the European PGA Coaching Conference, Mangum held a series of clinics for teaching professionals in Europe and received rave reviews. Geoff's first Tour student, Shaun Micheel, after a single lesson improved his putting stats from 133rd to 16th in the field and won his first PGA event, a major, at the 2003 PGA Championship, a scant two months after working with Mangum. Shaun has said: "Everyone remembers my seven iron [shot to within inches on last hole], but my putter won me the PGA Championship." Golf Magazine 2004.

Mangum's approach is to combine the best of existing putting lore with application of the neuroscience for human perception and movement in putting, targeting and stroke control. This "Mechanics of Instincts" approach teaches the teachers how the instincts actually work on the green and enables golfers to use body postures and movements in a structured putting routine that enhances rather than conflicts with these basic human processes for instinctive behavior. The result is a permanent and dramatic increase in putting competence and the added confidence that comes with real skill.
