Grip Pressure -- Take It Easy

All great putters have a sense of where the putter head is at all times. They can feel the putter head swing and release throughtout the stroke. In order to roll the ball consistently, you must be able to feel the putter head swing .

The best way to feel the putter swing is by taking a neutral-pressured grip. On a scale from 1-10, 1 being the lightest and 10 the hardest you could grip it, you should feel a 5. A lighter grip pressure will allow you to feel the putter in your hands. Also a softer, more neutral grip pressure will help you achieve a hitless stroke with a smooth repeatable rythm to it.

Your grip pressure should also stay consistent throughtout the stroke so as to eliminate any hit in the stroking motion. Remember -- when you hit your putts, you then have a difficult time judging distances with any consistency.

To become a more consistent roller of the ball, take it easy on your grip pressure. I guarantee your putts will be rolling better than ever.

Good Luck and Good Putting.
